Full Year Montessori
Dear Phoenix Families,
Over the past few years, since joining the administration and having children of my own, I have noticed that the needs of families seem to have evolved and changed. Most families seem to require care that extends beyond the traditional school calendar, and perhaps this is a calendar that should evolve in conjunction with the needs of families.
I have done some research and have found that there are local public and private schools that operate on a year-round calendar. Although they are few and far between, I am hoping that by using them as an example that Phoenix may be able to offer such a model as an option to families in the future.
I have put together a short survey designed to identify the needs and gather the opinions of the families that are currently a part of the Phoenix community. Please take the time to complete it so that I can have a better idea of the thoughts and feelings of the majority. Should you have any feedback about this concept that the survey doesn't allow for you to communicate, please feel free to come and speak with me in person or to e-mail me at sarapriolo@me.com.
Thank you in advance for your participation and feedback,
Sara Manna
Below are some articles I found on the web relating to full year schooling - please feel free to read them either before or after you complete the survey to get you thinking further about this idea.
